BGU Random Walks 2008 - Wed. March 26, 2008

Dear Friends, Colleagues,and Students
We are happy to announce BGU Random Walks 2008, to be held on Wednesday, March 26, 2008 under the auspices of the Lynne and William Frankel Center for Computer Science at BGU and sponsored by Jeffrey and Holly Ullman.
Speakers List includes: Uriel Feige, Ziv Bar-Yossef, Nati Linial, Sasha Sodin, Omer Reingold, Chen Avin and Nir Tzachar. Abstract and the full program is now available on-line at http://www.cs.bgu.ac.il/~frankel/RW2008/ .

Women in Computer Science

We will have a "Women in Computer Science" workshop at Tel Aviv University on March 19, 2008. The goal is to have a great technical program by a fabulous set of leading women in computer science from both academia and industry, from Israel and abroad, and a chance for the women in Computer Science and related fields to get together. Interested female graduate students in computer science and related fields (engineering, mathematics) are encouraged to register now at tauwocs@gmail.com (there are only a few spots left). We are able to reimburse travel expenses for registered students outside TAU and lunch will be provided for registered participants. Space permitting, the invitation is extended to undergraduate female students as well (please apply at tauwocs@gmail.com). The technical lectures will be open to the general (female and male) public (faculty and students). There will also be a panel discussion with the invited speakers dealing with specific career challenges women face.

תגמול בגין השינויים בשנה האקדמית

אנו שמחים ליידעכם כי לאחר מו"מ ממושך הנהלת האוניברסיטה והארגון הגיעו להבנות בנוגע לתגמול ולפיצוי חברי הסגל האקדמי הזוטר בגין נזקי השביתה והשינוי בשנה האקדמית. להלן פרטי ההבנות.

פרטי התגמול בקצרה:
מי שנדרש ללמד בקורס חדש בסמסטר א'2, יקבל מינוי חדש.
דוקטורנטים ומסטרנטים אשר השלימו את מטלות ההוראה בסמסטר א'1 המקורי ונדרשים לבצע רק השלמות, יזכו לתשלום בעבור השלמות אלו, על פי תעריף שעתי.
דוקטורנטים אשר מתרגלים בקורס של סגל בכיר ולכן לא עבדו בסמסטר א'1 המקורי ונדרשים לעבוד במקום זאת בסמסטר א'2, מינויים יוארך והם יקבלו תגמול בגובה שבועיים נוספים של עבודה.
מסטרנטים ומורים מן החוץ אשר מתרגלים בקורס של סגל בכיר ולכן לא עבדו בסמסטר א'1 המקורי ונדרשים לעבוד במקום זאת בסמסטר א'2, מינויים יוארך והם יקבלו תגמול בגובה חודש נוסף של עבודה.
מורים מן החוץ אשר הובטח להם מינוי לסמסטר ב', וכתוצאה מהשינוי בשנה האקדמית מינויים נדחה למאי, יקבלו שתי משכורות גישור בגובה רבע משכרם, בחודשים מרץ ואפריל. במקרה הצורך, מורים אלו מוזמנים לפנות למשרדי הארגון לבקשת מקדמות על חשבון משכורת.

במידה ואתם מרגישים כי נפגעתם באופן מיוחד או שהיחידה האקדמית מסרבת להעניק לכם את התגמול המגיע לכם, פנו למשרדי הארגון ונסייע לכם.
כמו-כן, הבנות אלו אינן מתייחסות לסמסטר הקיץ ואתם מוזמנים לפנות אלינו בנושא במידה ויש חשש כי תפגעו.
